City Heights Math Camp

We believe math education is like an onion. The basics are what make up the core, and students are expected to “layer” over this core as they progress through school. However, many students coming from urban communities do not have the opportunity or resources to strengthen their core math knowledge. This core ends up weakening over time because of the absence of opportunities outside of school throughout the year and especially during the long summers. Getting behind in math is detrimental to a student’s academic life, as Mathematics is not a quickly learned subject and it is a key part of many other subjects in school, such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Economics. In addition, the reasoning and logical skills learned in math often translate into other subjects such as History and English. Through the City Heights Math Camp, we aim to change this by providing an opportunity for students to strengthen their core concepts while having fun and empowering them to succeed in school.

Our Mission

Our mission is to inspire and empower students from disadvantaged backgrounds through fun and innovative math education.
